2/1/07 Changes in Procurement Services

Effective February 1, the Purchasing and related administrative functions of Procurement Services, will become part of the Finance Division, reporting through the Controller's Office under Tom Guinan, Associate Controller (tguinan@nd.edu). This reporting change is primarily intended to build upon the already exemplary purchasing support provided by Procurement Services and we do not anticipate any impact on users of Procurement Services. Natural synergies between Procurement Services and other groups within the Controller's Office will further enhance areas such as transaction processing, grant proposal writing, reporting, end-user training and strategic vendor relationships.
 
Given the operational aspects associated with warehouse and materials managements, the Central Receiving and NDSurplus groups within Procurement Services will continue to report through Business Operations under Dan Skendzel (dskendze@nd.edu), Director of Administrative Services.
 
Tom Guinan will work closely with Dan, and the Purchasing team within Procurement Services to ensure a seamless and successful transition. Please feel free to contact them with questions or comments.
