8/29/07 Contracts signed for moving services

The University is pleased to announce that it has signed contracts with three different suppliers for moving and relocation services.  This is the result of a request for proposal facilitated by Procurement Services in collaboration with the Office of Human Resources. Two of the companies, United/Wiltfong and Crown/Wheaton have been preferred suppliers for the past 5 years.  Stevens Worldwide Van Lines is new to the University.

Among other selection criteria, the contracts were awarded based on competitive pricing and discounts as well as their reputation for providing high quality customer service.  Ann Simpson, of Procurement Services, and fellow committee members, Tammy Freeman, Nancy Horvath, Mary Paul, Erin Smith-Putt and Jody Sadler, spent a great amount of time reviewing the proposals. After a rigorous evaluation process, it was decided that these three suppliers would be best suited to fit the University’s needs.
