GAAL, STEPHANIE
Stephanie has been involved with the Physical Education atmosphere for the last 7 1/2 years. Her passions lie mainly in general wellness and fitness as well as skills and instruction of soccer, but she has a variety of experience in several activities; racquetball,tennis, personal training, weight training, and wall climbing. She earned her Bachelors Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and her Masters Degree from Western Michigan University. She also has 13 years of experience as a soccer player, four of those as a collegiate athlete.

Michele is beginning her 32th year of college teaching. She teaches wellness and a variety of activities; specializing in tennis, weight training, self-defense, and dance. Her coaching experience includes Head Tennis Coach at Notre Dame, Western Illinois University, Beloit College and Valparaiso University. She was Director of Tennis for the International Special Olympics and is a certified
USPTA Pro.

Denise brings over 22 years teaching experience to Notre Dame. She has taught and coached in Europe and served as the Chair of Health and Physical Education at Culver Military Academy.
She specializes in golf, fencing, and dance and is also a personal trainer for the University

Fran brings over 44 years of teaching and coaching experience. He was NAIA Coach of the Year and a member of the NAIA and the Indiana Wrestling Halls of Fame.

Skip has served the Department since 1979, teaching a variety of activities. He is also an American Red Cross Instructor for faculty, staff, and students. He is certified bby the National Athletic Trainers Association and is on the Varsity Athletic Training Staff with primary duties as Men’s Basketball Trainer.

Dianne has been teaching for over 18 years and has been with the University since 1978. She served as an Assistant Varsity Athletic Trainer for 12 year working with all the varsity teams. Dianne also was the RecSports Coordinator of Fitness for four years.

Nathan has taught physical education at the elementary and secondary levels. He is beginning his sixth year of university teaching; including wellness and a variety of activities. He has presented academic work at the AAHPERD conference. He is also the head coach for a local USA swimming team and volunteers to coach a local Special Olympian.

Diane is beginning her 18th year at Notre Dame. She has taught Physical Education for over 25 years at the elementary, high school and college level. She has also coached at the college level for 10 years prior to joining our staff.

Marisha has earned degrees in Organizational Communications, Exercise Science and Holistic Health with emphasis on stress management and wellness programs. She is a Certified YogaKids Facilitator and Certified Professional Yoga Therapist. This is her 12th year of teaching at the university level.
SCOTT, JOSHUA
A graduate of Western Michigan University, Josh played division I soccer for the Broncos and received degrees in Physical Education and Biology. He also completed his masters degree from Western Michigan University in Exercise Physiology with a Holistic emphasis. Josh has 5 years experience in athletic club program development, coaching, wellness program facilitation and collegiate teaching.

Jill is beginning her 7th year of teaching physical education at the University level. She has presented academic research at state physical education conferences on increasing physical activity through the use of innovative technology. Jill teaches wellness, fitness, weight training and numerous sport skill courses.
