Cost $208 - includes ski rentals, lessons, lift ticket, and bus transportation
Snowboarding:
$224- includes lessons, lift tickets, rentals, and bus transportation
(Note! If you sign up for the ski package and want to try snowboarding, it is $4.00 additional per visit.)
If you have your own equipment the cost is $184.00

There will be four sessions on Tuesdays: Jan. 20 and 27, Feb. 3 and 10. Feb. 17 is reserved in case one of the earlier dates must be cancelled.

The bus will pick up students at the Library Circle at 5:00 pm. and leave Swiss Valley about 9:00 p.m. for return to campus (+45 minute trip)

Lessons will be held at Swiss Valley Ski Area near Jones, Michigan. (about 30 miles away). Instruction will be provided by the Ski Area.

Each session will include a lesson on the individual's skill ability level and free skiing/boarding time.

When you arrive at Swiss Valley, you will receive your lift ticket (and equipment if you are renting). The group will be divided into skill ability classes. You will be asked on the first day in which level of skiing you belong. If you are a beginner, you will be put in beginning lessons. If you have skied before, you may be tested to see at which level you belong. If you are using your own skis, this will give you an opportunity for lessons on your own equipment.

SNOWBOARDING

You must decide whether you wish to ski or snowboard at the time of lift ticket distribution.

Since we leave late in the afternoon, you might want to pick up a grab n' go from the ND Food Service.

(Note:Click on Swiss Valley image to go to their web site.)

ABSENCES - Please note that if you miss a ski class, it may be difficult to make up.

CANCELED CLASS - Classes on a given day may be canceled due to the ski area being closed or bad road conditions. We have one week built in the schedule in case a class has to be delayed. IF IN DOUBT on a given class day, call the Physical Education Office (631-6222) or the Rockne Front Desk (631-5297) for information.

If you have not yet been skiing, we would like to remind you that you should dress appropriately for the weather. Wear gloves or mittens (preferable leather) especially for the rope tow lifts in the beginner area. A cap is strongly suggested to keep warm. Long scarfs or long hair must be tucked in when using the ski area lifts
