I’m currently a Ph.D. candidate in political science at the University of Notre Dame. My dissertation focuses on political inequality in American politics. Specifically, I ask: Why are the poor poorly represented by their government? To answer this question, I examine the link between the political opinions of the rich and the poor and public policies in the American states.

I’m also interested in political representation more broadly, political participation, and the impact of political outcomes on citizens’ quality of life. Click on the “Working Papers” link above to view ongoing research.

While at Notre Dame, I’ve taught courses on the politics of poverty and American campaigns and elections. Click on the “Teaching” link above for more information.
