Employment

Employed by the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering since 1987 my duties are in a multi-disciplinary environment developing LabVIEW software applications used in instructional and experimental research test facilities along with providing computer and electronic technical support. Supported undergraduate laboratories include Measurements, Structural/Solid Mechanics, and Hydronics Laboratories. Graduate research responsibilities include Solids Mechanics & Structural Testing, Biological Materials Characterization and the White Field Research Facility.

Software Development and System Integration

Supports instructional and research activities within the department as a LabVIEW software developer, managing all aspects of software development projects from concept to implementation, while providing technical direction and support. Particular emphasis on system integration, custom applications for computer based instruments, controllers and instrumentation systems.


Electronics Support

Working directly with faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, assists in the development, implementation and utilization of electronic measurement systems used in instructional and research laboratories. Responsibilities include component purchasing, circuit board layout design, electronic modifications of laboratory equipment includes, but is not limited to AFM, load frames, CNC mill, Stratasys FDM.


Computer Support

Provides hardware and software support for the departmental computer systems. Responsibilities installation, upgrading and maintaining stand-alone and networked computer systems. Systems include Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP and Macintosh OS. Familiar with networking software, graphics applications, and personal productivity software applications.
