Title: "On Rough Solutions for Some Nonlinear Dispersive PDE"

I will describe joint work with J. Colliander, G. Staffilani, H. Takaoka, and T. Tao concerning certain nonlinear dispersive P.D.E. evolving from rough initial data. Included will be a scattering result for rough solutions of a defocussing nonlinear Schrodinger equation in three space dimensions, and a "nonsqueezing" result for KdV on the circle. Both results yield new information for smooth solutions as well.
