The 2011 Scottish Golf Villages Tour with University of Notre Dame Professor of Architecture Philip Bess

An 8-day / 8-night trip with an on-site academic focus on the principles of good urban and village design, as well as guaranteed reservations to play five of the best golf courses in Scotland: the links course at Brora, The Jubilee Course at St. Andrews, two British Open Championship venues (Carnoustie and The Old Course at St. Andrews), and the course many call the finest in all of Scotland (Royal Dornoch).
This tour is especially well-suited for real estate developers, land use lawyers, city planners, urban designers, architects and (of course) golfers. The trip itinerary includes:
Thursday, May 26: Travel to Dornoch. Play Royal Dornoch--Chmpionship Course. Lecture: "Space and Anti-Space / Traditional Urban Formal Typologies." Overnight at Royal Golf Hotel, Breakfast included.
Friday, May 27: Play Royal Dornoch--Championship Course. Overnight at Royal Golf Hotel, Breakfast included.
Satuday, May 28: Travel to Carnoustie. Play Carnoustie (Championship Course). Following golf, travel to St. Andrews. Overnight at The Dunvegan Hotel, 1 3-bedroom Auchterlonie Suite and 2 double/twin rooms, Breakfast included, Rusacks Hotel, 2 classic twin/double, guaranteed Old Course package rooms, Breakfast included, and Burness House, 4 Old Course package twin/double rooms, Breakfast included.
Monday, May 30: Play St. Andrews Jubilee Course and The Old Course at St. Andrews. Old Course is GUARANTEED at 11:20 and 11:30 AM. Tuesday, May 31: Play The Old Course at St. Andrews and St. Andrews Jubilee Course. Old Course is GUARANTEED at 12:10 and 1:40 PM (times are not consecutive today). Overnight at The Dunvegan Hotel, 1 3-bedroom Auchterlonie Suite and 2 double/twin rooms, Breakfast included, Rusacks Hotel, 2 Classic twin/double rooms, Breakfast included, and Burness House, 4 Old Course package twin/double rooms, Breakfast included.
This trip can accommodate a maximum of 16 golfers---plus additional non-golfers---with reservations taken on a first-come / first-served basis. The 2011 price for this trip, with no surcharges for payment via credit card, is $5323.41 per golfer / $2063.17 per non-golfer, with a deposit of $2500 for golfers and $600 for non-golfers due by Monday, November 15, 2010 to secure room reservations and tee times; with the balance due approximately February 24, 2011 (90 days in advance of trip).

Price quote is in US Dollars and includes currency exchange fees. Price is only good through Friday November 15, and cannot be locked in without required deposit.
One person gets a single room at the Dunvegan for a supplement of $298.20 (total for the 4 nights there). Depending on how many people bring their spouses someone might have to get a single room the entire time.

Coverage includes trip cancellation, trip interruption, trip delay, medical expenses, emergency medical transportation, golf equipment and personal effects loss, and golf equipment delay! A great, comprehensive package that is a very good investment. Travel insurance price based on age 35-59. Includes cancellation for business reasons except for residents of the following states: WA, NY, PA, CT, FL, NH. This travel insurance program is not available for OR residents. Upgrade options can be quoted including cancellation for "any" reason, which will cover 50% of nonrefundable fees up to 48 hours prior to travel, no matter what the reason, except again in WA, NY, PA, CT, FL, NH.
