HISTORY

Pasquerilla West is "home away from home" for 250 women. Pasquerilla West, more commonly known as PW or "P-Dub", is located at the northeastern corner of Notre Dame's beautiful campus. PW and three other dorms (Pasquerilla East, Siegfried, and Knott), form the "Mod Quad," a group of four more modern dorms built in the 1980s. Note to self: perk of having a newer dorm -- AIR CONDITIONING!

PW and PE were built in 1981 after a generous donation by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pasquerilla. Pasquerilla West was the first dorm built specifically for women at the University of Notre Dame. Completed in 1981, PW was the gift of Frank and Sylvia Pasquerilla (to their daughter, one of the original residents of PW - according to Doug from Roseland Cab). Past residents have called themselves the Pink Wizards, Plaid Wave, and most recently Purple Weasels. We were fortunate enough to survive the dorm "redistribution" going on over here on Mod Quad. The two twin dorms share a beautiful grassy knoll and volleyball court in an area enclosed by "the Towers," Grace and Flanner Halls. These two halls were once residence halls but now serve as university offices.

PW is just a short walk way from the North Dining Hall, the Hesburgh library, Rolfs Sports Recreation center, the student parking lots and Stepan Center. PW is in the shape of an L, with two sections: section A and section B (each a different line of the L). PW holds single rooms, doubles, and quads. Seniors generally choose to live in the singles, while juniors and sophomores fill the remaining rooms, doubles, and quads. As a freshman, you will live in a double with one roommate, a triple with two roommates, or in a quad with three others.

PW is known as a spirited, spiritual, service-minded, athletic, and close-knit community. We weasels are also spotted easily on campus and especially at pep rallies because of our love for purple...a color that you will grow to love. The PW mascot is the Purple Weasel.
