Hey Everybody! I am an American Studies and History major from Madison, MS. I live in Pasquerilla East. I work at the First Year of Studies at the front desk, and I am involved with numerous groups on campus and I have my own radio show. I love everything Disney (the movies, the theme parks, and even the channel). I look forward to meeting all of the freshmen and taking part in my second favorite thing, laughing. |

Congratulations to the Class of 2011! I look forward to meeting with you.
I was born and raised in the border city of El Paso, Texas. As a student of this great University, I lived in both Keenan and O'Neill Halls and am currently living in a house off-campus. I am a Sociology and Computer Applications (CAPP) major. I am hopeful I will be able to make my majors work together in the future. Some of the on-campus activities I have taken part in include being La Voz (Co-President) of MEChA, as well as helping with Latino Ministry. I have held several positions on-campus which include Multicultural Recruitment in Undergraduate Admissions, Web Design at the Institute for Latino Studies, TA for Computer Applications Special Studies course, and most recently, Resident Counselor for Pre-College Programs, including Summer Experience and Latino Community Leadership Seminar (LCLS).
I participated in a summer abroad in Ecuador during the Summer of 2006 and have participated in service trips through the CSC including the Oaxaca Seminar in Oaxaca, Mexico (2005), and the Appalachia Seminar at the David School in Kentucky. I will be participating in a Mission trip through Latino Ministries in October of 2007 in Mexico City, Mexico. After graduation, I intend on going for a Master's degree in Education specializing in Secondary Education, School Counseling or in Educational Technology. Ultimately, my hope is to promote higher education, especially in underprivileged and under resourced communities.
Congratulations again! I hope you look forward to an amazing four years here. |
