I am a Theology and Computer Applications major, and Education, Schooling, and Society minor. I am from Granger, Indiana, and for the last three years I lived in Walsh Hall. Now I currently reside in an apartment off-campus. While living in Walsh, I served as the social commissioner, and I was on the Liturgy commission. I also was, and still am involved in most intramural sports for Walsh. Also, during the school year I work in the Notre Dame Summer Sports Camp Office. After my sophomore year, I thoroughly enjoyed studying in London with the London Summer Program. Through my work as a Peer Advisor, I hope to help freshman adapt smoothly and easily to Notre Dame.

Nicole Crippen

Welcome freshmen! I am a science business major from East Lansing, Michigan. I use to reside in McGlinn- home of the Shamrocks but currently live off campus in my father’s same house when he attended Notre Dame (keeping the ND family tradition alive). I have kept myself busy these past three years and enriched my experience at Notre Dame with involvement in hall council and student government, being on the freshman orientation staff, and a tutor for autistic children. Also, I love to run! I completed the Boston and San Francisco Marathon and am current president of the running club. I fulfilled my itch to travel with the opportunities to study abroad in Rome during the summer of 2006 and in London in the fall of 2006. In these six months I encountered numerous new experiences and challenges and grew up dramatically as a result. I am incredibly excited to meet you and help you ease your way into college and pave your own path here at ND.

Jenny Korzan

Hello and welcome to ND! I grew up in Granger, IN and attended Marian High School in Mishawaka. Apart from my “townie” statues, I am also a Lyons Hall “Lyonite”, although I am off-campus this year. As a junior, I spent a year studying in Angers, France and traveling in Europe. I am an ALPP-Psychology major with a minor in European Studies, and I hope to pursue a career in either education or physical therapy. My favorite things include my family and friends, my faith, sports, country music, the beach, and peanut butter ice cream. I love meeting new people and I look forward to getting to know the class of 2010!

Chris Perkins

Hi!  My name is Chris Perkins and I am a senior from Cerro Gordo, IL (a small farming town of 1500 people in central Illinois).  Two years ago, I made the best decision in my life and transferred from the University of Illinois to Notre Dame.  I am majoring in History here at Notre Dame with a concentration in American history.  This fall I will be conducting research on the minority experience within the United States military during World War II for my History Honors Thesis.  I was an intern this summer at the Modern Military Records Unit at the National Archives and Records Administration in Hyattsville, Maryland which is right outside of Washington, D.C.  After graduation, I hope to pursue a career within the federal government in which I can utilize my historical background in my daily work.  When I am not working towards my history degree or participating in O’Neill Hall events, you can usually find me in CoMo participating in various Campus Ministry activities such as the Sophomore Road trip Retreat, Four: 7 Catholic Fellowship, and Iron Sharpens Iron Praise and Worship.  I am also currently the president of the Notre Dame Celebration Choir.  Our group performs at a number of campus events and volunteers throughout the greater South Bend community.  I am anxious to start my senior year at Our Lady’s University and very much look forward to meeting all of you this upcoming school year!  Go Irish!!!!!

Caity Schneeman

My name is Caity Schneeman and I am a Cavanaugh Hall senior hailing from the great city of St. Paul, Minnesota. I am an English and Peace Studies double major and Irish Studies minor, and I am returning to campus after a fantastic semester studying abroad in Dublin, Ireland! Throughout my career at Notre Dame I have been involved in lots of different activities and clubs, including Sophomore Class Council, The Center for Social Concerns, The Observer, Gaelic Society, and interhall and co-rec soccer. There are loads of opportunities to get involved at ND and I’m always wishing that I could have more time for more activities! This year I’m a member of Senior Class Council, a bartender at Legends, and a new member of the Peer Advisor Program! I am thrilled to have the chance to meet the new freshman class and talk about your exciting new lives in the dorms, classrooms, quads, chapels, and dining halls (yum!) of Notre Dame! Hopefully we can help make your transition to this wonderful university as smooth as possible.
