Ashley Chan

Hello! My name is Ashley Chan and I am an Art History major from Chicago, Illinois. I resided in McGlinn Hall, home of the Shamrocks for the past 3 years, and will proudly be an RA for the 2007-2008 school year. Majoring in Art History has been so invigorating, that it led me to be accepted into Notre Dame’s study abroad program in Rome, Italy for fall of 2006. This experience was a surreal yet unique opportunity: to be living amongst the vibrant art and artifacts! Upon my return to campus in the Spring, I was the co-chairman of the Asian American Association’s annual InFocus Conference, entitled MOSAIC: Exploring the Pieces, which sought to explore how pieces of Asian culture and background have created a larger contribution to modern American culture. After graduation, I plan to attend law school in pursuit of art law and cultural property rights in addition to completing courses to receive my Graduate Gemologist degree.

Anthony Dayrit

I am an English major and Gender Studies minor from Overland Park, Kansas. I lived in Knott Hall for two years and currently live off-campus. At ND I have been involved in Judicial Council as Vice President of Student Body Elections and the Peer Advocacy program.  I also work as a tutor at the University Writing Center and have completed two summer service projects through the Center for Social Concerns. In my free time I enjoy working out, following ND football (who doesn’t?), and hanging out with my friends. I plan to attend law school after graduation. I look forward to meeting all of you and welcoming you to the Notre Dame family.

Christine Hedge

Hi and welcome to Notre Dame.  I am from Peachtree City, Georgia.  A current resident of McGlinn Hall, I am a History/Political Science double major.  Last Fall I studied abroad in Rome, Italy and can’t wait to go back to the land of gelato.  At Notre Dame, I am involved in various activities including Peer Advocacy, CoRec soccer, and Bookstore Basketball, the largest 5 v 5 outdoor basketball tournament in the world.  The day I was born, I watched a Notre Dame Football game, so one could say I ended up at the school I was always supposed to attend.  I look forward to meeting with you and sharing my experiences and insights regarding Notre Dame Life and hope to make your first year at Notre Dame a great one.

Franchella Holland
Greetings!! My name is Franchella Holland, a SENIOR Sociology and Pre-Professional Studies major from Tuskegee, Alabama (you know, like the Tuskegee Airmen). I am an officer of Shades of Ebony (you'll hear me talk about it from time to time) a retired Notre Dame Cheerleader, and a member of the First Class Steppers. My campus home is Badin Hall, tiny but mighty. Things I find absolutely wonderful are chocolate, sleep, and spending peaceful time with family and friends. One thing I'd like to do before I'm forty is travel to Africa. I am excited about advising First Year Students because my peer advisor during my First Year played a pretty big role in my experiences. So if you have any concerns or worries about Freshmen year, no need to fear, Franchella is here! I look forward to meeting with you!
