About St. Jude's

St. Jude's is a K-7 school located on the outskirts of Jinja, Uganda near the rural village of Buwekula. It is one of three primary schools, along with a high school, parish, and medical care facility, operated by the Congregation of Holy Cross in the area. St. Jude's has more than 400 students, and until Sorin began its fundraising in 2003, most classes were held outdoors. So far, we have raised more than $100,000 to renovate existing classrooms, build two new dorms, put in a kitchen, construct bathrooms, and fence in the property. The total cost of new construction needs is estimated to be over $300,000.
