HANGING POSTERS, PICTURES, ETC.
Students should avoid the use of any tape other
than masking tape on walls because they have a tendency to damage paint
and other surfaces when removed. Charges will be assessed on the students
account whenever damage to the room occurs because of the use of scotch
tape, duct tape, electrical tape, adhesive picture holders, "poster
putty," thumbtacks, nails, decals, etc. Students should report any
needed room repairs to their Rector upon arrival and indicate them on
the Room Condition Report.
TO AVOID BILLING FOR DAMAGES TO YOUR WALLS AND FURNITURE, USE STANDARD MASKING TAPE TO HANG POSTERS, PICTURES, ETC.
DAMAGE TO ROOMS OR FURNISHINGS
All residence hall rooms are inventoried prior to the opening of the hall
and are inventoried again following the close of the residence halls.
Damages, shortages and rule violations are noted, and the occupants of
the room are billed accordingly. Any damage to a residence hall room or
its furnishings will be charged to the occupants of the room. If corridor
areas are damaged, the occupants of student rooms in the section are charged,
or a charge is assessed to all residents.
Specific questions regarding residence hall check-in should be directed to the Rector. General questions about move-in, can be directed to orlh@nd.edu.
