Why do I need to create a wait list application?
Incoming transfer students, students who take a leave of absence, students who withdraw from the University or students who currently live off-campus and are considering moving back on campus are placed on a waiting list for housing and are placed as space becomes available.
Students who wish to be on the waiting list should complete a wait list application. Over the summer you will be contacted if we have an opening on-campus for you. Typically, these assignments are very last minute; placements may not occur until the week before school begins in August.

If you have applied to be an RA, you should ACCEPT the housing application by the deadline. After that time:

How will room picks work this year?
Good question! With all the many different traditions, please see your hall staff for information about room picks in your hall.
- Room picks will occur between March 23 and April 6.
- You will complete your housing contract the night of room picks.
What if I can’t attend the night of room picks?
You should touch base with your rector so they are aware that you will not be there.
- If you are on-campus, but cannot make it to room picks:
- Whoever is picking for you should have your student ID with them. They will partially complete your housing contract; it will be your responsibility to see your Rector within 48 hours to sign the contract. After 48 hours, you must come up to our office, 305 Main Building, to complete a housing contract – you only have until April 8th.
- If a contract is not signed by April 8, we will consider the assignment invalid and the bed space becomes available for ORLH use.
- If you are abroad:
- You should be in contact with your Rector so they are aware of who (if anyone) is picking a room for you.
- Whoever is picking for you should have a copy of an e-mail with them that indicates what your preference is. They will also partially complete a housing contract for you. ORLH will mail the contract to your home address so that you may complete it upon your return. Your signed contract must be mailed back to our offices no later than June 1st.
I will be a 5th year undergraduate next year. Is it possible to live in the undergraduate halls?
