RECTOR: Sr. Mary Jane Hahner, C.S.F.N., M.Div., M.A.

Sister Mary Jane Hahner, a Sister of the Holy Family of Nazareth, graduated in May, 2010, from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago with a Master of Divinity degree.  She also completed a year-long spiritual direction internship at Claret Center in Hyde Park and considers this opportunity as a blessed time for spiritual and personal growth.  Before her return to graduate school in Chicago, Sister Mary Jane ministered to families in the Philadelphia area as a teacher for twelve years and then as principal for another fifteen years.  In addition to her M.Div., she holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from Holy Family University in Philadelphia and a Master’s degree in Administration from Villanova University.

Following many years of service in Catholic education, Sister Mary Jane was treasurer for her religious congregation for six years.  After completing this term of leadership, Sister Mary Jane felt called by God to continue her lifelong journey in learning more about self and God.  She looks forward to building life-giving community at the University of Notre Dame while promoting her congregational charism of ministry to families.
