Top 10: Success Tips10. Learn all the names. 9. Listen to alumni stories patiently; networking is a big deal. 10. Don't skip events; they are specifically designed to enhance your integration with the University. 9. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself to anyone; almost everyone is in the exact same unfamiliar territory as you. 8. Don't give up meeting the guys down the hall to meet girls; your guy friends will become brothers to you. 7. See number 7 of preceding list: Do not be content to hang out with a few people; encourage yourself to meet many people. 6. Don't obsess about class; college is just as much a social experience as an academic one. 5. Don't forget names; we're all human and forget, and you will learn many names, but do your best to remember. 4. Don't set off the smoke detector; it's really really loud. On second thought, if you're going to set it off at all, do it during the fall in the daytime and not in the middle of the night in the dead of winter. 3. Don't assume that just because someone is from the same city as someone else they necessarily know each other. Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles are all very large cities. The chances are slim that two arbitrary people will know one another. 2. Don't underestimate the experience of those older than you; they've been through the same situations and have helpful advice. 1. NEVER introduce yourself as "a Facebook friend," ESPECIALLY to a female. The last thing you want is to be labeled a creeper, or to have a restraining order issued. Top 10: Why You Are in the Best Dorm on Campus 10. Our sister dorm is McGlinn (Although this year we are sharing McG with Duncan, the brand new hall right down the street). 9. O'Neill is an Irish name. 8. Right next to Reckers, the only 24 hour food locale on campus. This comes in handy when you're pulling an all-nighter (but just for fun right? Because we're sure you wouldn't procrastinate and need to write a 10 page paper at 2 a.m. the night before it's due). 7. Angry Mob. What a great mascot - compare that with any other dorm mascot. You'll like what you find. 6. Right next to South Dining Hall, the main food source of West Quad and South Quad. This comes in handy during the winter. 5. Plenty of study space. This is very important when the guys upstairs decide to have a full-out tackle football game. 4. Spanky's. The best pizza/cheese sticks ANYWHERE on campus (and maybe even in the Midwest), and located right inside O'Neill! 3. Big rooms. If you don't believe us, once you arrive, take a trip through Morrissey Manor. Any of your visiting friends will be awestruck at the space you have. 2. Two words: AIR CONDITIONING. The only reason this isn't #1 is because most of the it's too cold for A/C. 1. Everywhere around campus, O'Neill men have a reputation for being classy, respectable, and genuine ballers. Wait til you arrive and you can experience this yourself.
