Frosh O' 2009-2010: The Essential Frosh O' ExperienceOrientation Staff Bios Hall Staff Bios McGlinn Hall: Sister Dorm Summer 2009 O’Neill Class of 2013: On behalf of the 2009 O’Neill Hall Freshman Orientation Committee, I would like to congratulate you on your admittance into O’Neill Family Hall! As coordinator of the O’Neill Frosh-O, we have been given the task of turning you from high school graduates into college freshmen. The O’Neill Hall Staff and Frosh-O Committee are dedicated to making your entrance into the Notre Dame community a positive memory you will treasure for the rest of your life. You are able to move in on Friday, August 21st beginning at 9 am. Special approval is required to move in any earlier. You will have all day to move in and go shopping if necessary. Everyone will meet in the 24 hour lounge at 8 pm and we will be busy for the rest of the night. When you arrive on campus, you will be greeted by members of the Frosh-O staff, which consists of 15 members of O’Neill Hall who will be helping you throughout the orientation process. They will also help you move your belongings into your room, and their services are entirely at your disposal. In addition, over the next few weeks the Frosh-O staff will be calling each O’Neill freshman to introduce themselves as well as answer any question you may have. Click here to view a campus map. As you can see, O’Neill is located next to McGlinn Hall, which also happens to be our sister dorm. The link to their webpage is located at the top of the page. There will be a $65 hall tax collected upon move-in. Understand that this tax is paid by all O’Neill Hall Mobsters and goes a long way to fund things like dorm events, section dinners, and other fun stuff. Almost all of you will feel somewhat overwhelmed to be leaving behind your old lifestyles. However, there are a few things you can do to make the transition as smooth as possible. Take a look at the O’Neill website in order to get a feel for the dorm’s people, history, and personality. Basically everything you will need to know about O’Neill Hall can be found on this website, as well as much more information about getting acclimated to your new home. The Advice Page is especially important to incoming freshmen and has a lot of information you will find useful. Also, the Directions Page shows how to get to and from campus, as well as the locations of several restaurants, hotels, and stores. Again, I would like to congratulate all of you for your admittance into one of the most prestigious and exciting dorms on campus! As a member of O’Neill Hall, you have been accepted into the O’Neill Family. Over the next four years, you will grow very close to the men of O’Neill as you develop and mature. Make the most of your Frosh-O experience, and we will do our part to make it both memorable and welcoming. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your summer, and we will see you this fall!
