Application Instructions
- Refer to our location pages for information on classes, language, housing, and program prerequisites.
- Complete our "Which Programs are Right for Me?" questionnaire to better understand the many different aspects of choosing a study abroad program.
- Talk to returnee students about their experience abroad
- Apply to more than one program - all programs have a limited number of spots and some programs are more competitive than others
- Attend information sessions in the fall semester
- Stop by our offices in the Main Building to talk to our program directors.
- Consult with your academic/major advisor to determine how courses taken abroad will fit into your ND curriculum.
- A strong application reflects knowledge of the program and specific examples of why it is a good match (academically, culturally, personally) for the student.
- Make a four-year plan that includes a semester abroad.
- Arts and Letters Majors
Please meet with your departmental advisors and then a dean in 104 O’Shaughnessy Hall before the A&L determined deadline for application approval. You must secure an appointment with the Dean's Office no later than Thursday, October 13, 2011, by calling (574) 631-7098. - Mendoza College of Business Majors

Note well that all MCOB students must meet with an advisor no later than Friday, October 14, 2011.
Once you have decided on the program(s) that is right for you, proceed to the instructions for applying to an International Study Program. There are multiple parts to an OIS application -- all of which must be submitted before the Selection Committee can evaluate a candidate's application. Students must submit the application form and parental consent form by midnight on November 15. Students must also submit a rector reference, two academic references, departmental approvals and college approvals by the end of the semester. Freshman approvals are submitted by FYS at a later date.
