"Notre Dame at the End of the World: Punta Arenas, Chile"
Laura Stankiewicz, Mike Peterson, Clare Halloran-Santiago
Punta Arenas, the Southern-most city of the world, has four famous poles with distances to major global cities. However, Notre Dame was missing! So we found a plank of wood while hiking in Torres del Paine National Park, carried it 43 Km, and made ND a sign it deserved. While attempting to hang it for this picture, the owner of the pole ran out of his house and began scolding us. However, after hearing our story, he agreed to nail it on a fifth pole that he is constructing later this year. We left our mark and that of the Irish one of the farthest corners of the world!
