The University of Notre Dame Washington Program offers students the opportunity to participate in the various facets of American political and cultural life from a unique vantage point, whether engaged in government service, elective politics, policy research, museum work, or some other realm. Students in the Notre Dame Washington Program live, learn, and work in the nation's capital in either the fall or the spring semester.
While studying in Washington, students combine coursework with internships in government organizations, Congress, non-governmental organizations, the media, and cultural institutions. Students live in a historic neighborhood in northwest Washington and have easy access not only to their internship sites but also research facilities and cultural opportunities. The modern, furnished apartments located in the city include ample study space as well as easy access to computer and classroom facilities.
