Transportation
and Travel
Students are responsible for making their own arrangements to Greece
and back. However, field trips on the program's calendar during the course
of the semester conducted by faculty and other experts with special knowledge
of the sites are included in the program fees. Athens has a well-organized
bus, train and ferry system, which allows students to discover the value
of spending a weekend exploring the peaceful countryside.
Housing and Meals
Students live together in the Kolonaki neighborhood, about a twenty-minute
walk from the Academic Center, in simply furnished apartments with basic
cooking facilities. During the academic year, one main meal is provided
Monday through Saturday in the CYA dining room.
Cultural and Recreational Opportunities
Greece is the wellspring of western civilization and its antiquities
have always had a most powerful attraction. It is also a modern European
country in transition, with rich folklore and tradition. This is the part
of the world where the civilizations of the Nile and of western Asia flourished.
Athens' hill of the Acropolis, museums, concert halls, ancient sculpture
and architecture, countless taverns and numerous cafes have a lot to offer
just within the city. A voyage away from the city or mainland to the numerous
Greek islands offers relaxation with striking natural features.
Health Care
The program fees do not include medical insurance. Students are required
to have an insurance policy that adequately covers accidents and illness
suffered abroad, and is valid for the entire duration of their stay.
Costs
Please check the costs page to review fees which may be incurred with this program.
