Special Instructions for Summer Faculty-Led Program Applicants ONLY

INSTRUCTIONS FOR 2010 SUMMER FACULTY-LED PROGRAM APPLICANTS (Cape Town, Granada, Paris, Rome and Vienna)

Application deadline is February 19, 2010, 11:59 p.m.

Applicants to the faculty-led summer programs must submit an online application to Notre Dame's Office of International Studies:

  1. OIS On-line application for Notre Dame:
    • Complete the on-line application. 
      • NOTE TO ROME APPLICANTS ONLY:  In your "Statement of Objectives," please include an explanation as to why you are applying for a summer program, e.g., can't be off-campus during academic year due to sports, student leadership; did not receive offer for academic year program; academic requirements do not allow for academic year study, etc.
    • You need:
      • ONE FACULTY academic recommendation. (Please enter the name Elizabeth LaFortune for the second faculty recommendation request.  The application will not process without a second recommendation name.)
      • RECTOR recommendation.
    • You do not need to get academic or Dean approvals for summer programs.
    • PLEASE DO PRINT AND COMPLETE THE PARENTAL CONSENT FORM. The electronic application and parental consent forms are due February 19, 2010.
    • You must bring the parental consent form to 153 Hurley by February 19, 2010.

    St. Mary's students will not have access to the online application but may submit a paper application by the February 19th deadline.  Please contact Paula Worhatch in the main office of International Studies for a paper application:  Paula.P.Worhatch.1@nd.edu, or call 574-631-5882.

  2. NOTE REGARDING PASSPORTS: If you are considering applying to a summer program and you do not have a valid passport, or your passport is to expire within six months of your anticipated program end date, please take steps to obtain or renew your passport immediately. Passports can take longer than expected to process and you may need your passport to apply for visas well before your program begins.
