Available Beams

Helium Ion Source (HIS) is used to produce negatively charged 3He and 4He beams for injection into the FN Tandem Van de Graaff accelerator.

The following is a list of recent beams produced by our SNICS II source, including typical beam currents and cathode materials. It should be noted that this is not a complete list, and that the typical beam currents listed below are sometimes limited by the amount of beam that may be injected into the FN Tandem Van de Graaff accelerator. Please contact Ed Stech for more information regarding ion beams available from this SNICS II sputter source.
