Commencement Guest Ticket Policy
Most degree candidates may request up to four guest tickets for the Sunday, University Commencement Ceremony; however, only
three are guaranteed. The fourth ticket will be granted if enough
tickets are available. If not, a lottery will be held for the fourth
ticket. Graduate Business, Graduate School Ph.D. and Masters degree candidates may request
up to two guest tickets.
Degree candidates ordering one ticket before the ticket deadline
will be assigned in the lower arena. Two and three ticket requests
will be seated together either in the lower or upper arena. There
is no arena floor seating. This space is reserved for the degree candidates.
Degree candidates do not need a ticket for the ceremony; however,
they are required to rent or purchase a cap and gown. Candidates
must present a receipt when they pick up their tickets during Commencement
Week.
The University tries to accommodate the number of tickets requested by the
degree candidates for their guests. However, since seating is limited,
the number of tickets requested cannot always be honored. In this
case, we have made DeBartolo Hall available with closed-circuit television
for viewing the ceremony.
Commencement tickets are given to each graduate by the University, but may not be transferred
for a consideration (including, but not limited to money, gifts, property). Violation of this
regulation may mean you will not be allowed to reserve or retain any Commencement tickets.
