Eugene Wildman teaches in the creative writing program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a former editor of the Chicago Review and a winner of three Illinois Arts Council awards for fiction. His early work was experimental. He put out the Chicago Review Anthology of Concretism, the first collection of visual poetry ever to appear in this country; that was followed shortly after by Experments in Prose, a volume of nonlinear and mixed media texts. He has also written two experimental novels, Montezuma's Ball and Nuclear Love, though his work since then has been mostly realistic and focused on the short story.
