Geoffrey Squires was born in 1942 in County Donegal. He has lived in a number of countrues and now teaches at Hull University in Yorkshire. He has translated poems from French and Persian and now works almost exclusively in the form of the extended poetic sequence. The following selection is the opening of a longer work.
