These poems are a part of my manuscript which is
entitled, DIWATA, the Tagalog word for muse. I am
very interested in orality and oral tradition,
and its role in the development of
Philippines-based and Filipino American literary
traditions. For the development of a Filipino
American literary tradition, I am interested in
the influences of other cultures: their rhythms
and music, their mythologies, the role of their
storytellers in their respective communities.
