The original title of the piece was "Interview with Self," formatted as
questions posed by "me, " and answered by "I" (or vice versa—now I forget
— ha!). My friend Debra Di Blasi suggested omitting the questions, as they
were implied, and I agreed they were unnecessary. The end result renders
the piece more structurally "experimental" and disjointed. The reader may
be more challenged to try to figure out the logic or sense of what the
voiceis saying in this tongue-in-cheek self-reflexive mono-dialogue or free
associational, ontological play with a self the self is questioning and
attempting to answer.
