A brief commentary on work appearing in Notre Dame Review (from Steve Timm)

“Reverberations” is part of a book-length work called Tome S/p/lice, a title that suggests for me putting different things together, a kind of editing, not of individual lines or poems but an assembling. There is no longer a single “voice”; rather, voices: mine, others. (See the Sidereality (volume 2 issue 3) link for a radically different voice from Tome S/p/lice.) Since Tome S/p/lice, I have worked with varying voices and lengths (13 pp. to 100+ pp.) of “book”; the notion of individual poems that stand alone is for me untenable.
