Author’s Autobiography

Simone Muench

 

Simone Muench is an associate editor for ACM (Another Chicago Magazine).  She was raised in Benson, Louisiana, and the Ozark Mountains in Combs, Arkansas, before moving to Colorado to receive her B.A. and M.A.  Her manuscript Love’s Apostrophes won the 1998 Sheila-Na-Gig Chapbook Contest.  She has poems published or appearing in Paris Review, Phoebe, Pleiades, Indiana Review, Notre Dame Review, etc.  She is a recipient of an Illinois Arts Council Fellowship, and has recently received the Charles Goodnow Award for Poetry.  Her book The Air Lost in Breathing won the 1999 Marianne Moore Prize for Poetry and was published by Helicon Nine Editions in 2000.  She is currently working on her Ph.D at the University of Illinois in Chicago.  http://www.simonemuench.com
