Research

The Midwest Institute for Nanoelectronics Discovery (MIND) explores and develops advanced devices, circuits, and nanosystems with performance capabilities beyond conventional devices. Led by the University of Notre Dame, it is a consortium of academic, industry and government partners that includes Purdue University, Pennsylvania State University, University of Texas-Dallas, Argonne National Laboratory, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. MIND is supported by the Nanoelectronics Research Initiative of the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC-NRI), a variety of industry partners, the state of Indiana, and the city of South Bend.

MIND closely ties Notre Dame to the economic development initiatives of Indiana. It is anticipated that related commercialization activities will occur through Innovation Park at Notre Dame and Ignition Park in South Bend.

The central themes of MIND, the fourth SRC-NRI sponsored center, encompass energy-efficient devices and systems. For more information, visit MIND.
