Summer Research Opportunities

Nanoelectronics Undergraduate Research Fellowships (NURF)

The NDnano Center awards research fellowships to undergraduate students who apply and are selected to conduct summer research under the direction of an NDnano Center faculty member. The NURF positions are full time (40 hours/week), provide a total stipend of $5,000 over a 10-week period, and focus on a project in one of the research “pillars” of NDnano:

• new materials and nanostructures
• energy harvesting technologies
• nano-bio electronics
• physical limits to computation

Research Experience for Teachers (RET)

High school teachers in the Michiana region may choose from a variety of projects (mathematical, scientific, and technological topics) for this summer research program at Notre Dame. Sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the Siemens Foundation, participating teachers are eligible for stipends. Application information and deadlines are available at the RET Web site.
