"The need to defend one's life need not be by appointment, but may
occur at any unorthodox time, therefore the forms and techniques of
the martial arts are naturally endless."
My first memory of the club was watching the newly-promoted greenbelts.
Brian "Billy Jack" has come a long way from that day. Dubbed
"Billy Jack" by Coop for his crescent kicks, I think "The
man who doesn't sweat" is just as appropriate. It's uncanny--the man
never gets tired, and NEVER sweats.
Brian tells a story about his first martial arts instructor, who told him he
could not do the martial arts due to his handicap (for those of you who don't
know Brian, he is deaf). Well, newly-promoted 5th dan Master Johns has proven
just how wrong a person he can be. His senior year Brian was accepted to the
Notre Dame Law School, and with the graduation of Coop that spring, Brian took
over as the club's head instructor. He is now working as an attorney in
Columbus, Ohio. He has a dojo in his basement and even has one student
training for her shodan. He recently received his shodan in Kempo and is
currently studying Arnis and Gracie Ju Jitsu.
