Lance Armstrong's
War
One Man's Battle Against Fate, Fame, Love, Death,
Scandal, and a Few Other Rivals on the Road to the Tour de France
by Daniel Coyle '87 (HarperCollins)
The
author spent months in Armstrong's training camp in Spain and
emerged with a detailed picture of the driven cyclist and cancer
survivor as he prepared for his sixth Tour de France race in 2004.
Coyle translated that into a book Publishers Weekly lauded
as "honest, personal and passionate."
Coyle is a 1987 graduate of Notre Dame, a former senior editor
of Outside magazine and the author of Hardball:
A Season in the Projects.
