Carrie Etter
Originally from Normal, Illinois, resident in England since 2001, Carrie Etter has been widely published on both sides of the Atlantic with poems in The Iowa Review, The New Republic, The Republic of Letters, The Times Literary Supplement, and elsewhere. Her first collection, The Tethers (Seren, 2009), won the London Festival Fringe New Poetry Award, and her second, Divining for Starters, was published by Shearsman Books earlier this year. Shearsman also published the anthology she edited, Infinite Difference: Other Poetries by UK Women Poets (2010). She teaches as Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University.

John Matthias
John Matthias taught for many years at the University of Notre Dame and continues to co-edit Notre Dame Review. He has published some twenty-five books of poetry, translation, collaboration, scholarship, and literary criticism. His most recent books of poetry are Kedging (Salt, 2007) and Trigons (Shearsman, 2010). His book of memoirs, literary essays, and poems, Who Was Cousin Alice? And Other Questions (Shearsman), is to be officially launched at this reading. Co-incident with the publication of Cousin Alice, Salt will publish The Salt Companion to John Matthias, edited by Joe Francis Doerr.  In 2011 and 2012 Shearsman will begin issuing a series of volumes comprising John Matthias’s Collected Shorter and Collected Longer poems. He will participate in another Shearsman book launch on 16 June at Clare Hall, Cambridge, reading with Richard Berengarten and David Marriott.

Peter Robinson
Peter Robinson’s many books include Selected Poems (Carcanet: 2003), Selected Poetry and Prose of Vittorio Sereni (Chicago: 2006), The Greener Meadow: Selected Poems of Luciano Erba (Princeton: 2007), which won the John Florio Prize, and Poetry & Translation: The Art of the Impossible (Liverpool: 2010). Over the last five years Shearsman Books have published his Talk about Poetry: Conversations on the Art (2006), The Look of Goodbye: Poems 2001-2006 (2008), Spirits of the Stair: Selected Aphorisms (2009), and An Unofficial Roy Fisher (2010). A limited edition with illustrations by Sally Castle, English Nettles, came out from Two Rivers Press in 2010. Its poems will be included in a new full collection from Shearsman, The Returning Sky, in early 2012. The Salt Companion to Peter Robinson ed. Adam Piette and Katy Price appeared in 2007. After working many years in Sendai, Japan, he is currently Professor of English and American Literature at the University of Reading.
