Visiting the Law School
Class of 2011 | Sights and Sounds | Visiting the Law School | Off-campus Programs
students

A visit to campus is perhaps the ultimate way to gain insights about the distinctive qualities of a Notre Dame legal education. The Admissions Office coordinates the following visit programs annually for visitors to campus:

Law School visitors who are new to the Notre Dame campus are encouraged to take in the sites and sounds of the University in addition to spending time at the Law School. Visitors, for example, may wish to visit the University's Visitor Center for a tour of the campus, tour the Snite Museum of Art, or pay a visit to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Of course, the Hammes Bookstore is always a favorite place to browse through a rich selection of books or pick up an ND keepsake.

When planning a visit to the Notre Dame campus that involves overnight accommodations, The Morris Inn is recommended. The Morris Inn is located on the Notre Dame campus just steps away from the Law Building. Located on the edge of the Notre Dame Campus, and approximately one mile from the Law Building, is the Inn at Saint Mary's. Click here for additional suggestions for overnight accommodations. There is also a list of other hotels, motels, and Bed and Breakfasts available to visitors on the South Bend Chamber of Commerce web site.

The Law Building (#1027 on the map of campus) is accessible via Notre Dame Avenue, with the most proximate parking being the Visitor Lot near the corner of Eddy and Edison Streets behind Legend's Restaurant. You may reach this parking lot by traveling north on Notre Dame Avenue, turn right (east) at the first drive (on the north side of DeBartolo Center for Performing Arts), at the second stop sign go straight across Eddy and turn right (south) into the Visitors Parking Lot. Please note that you will need to push the red button at the entrance in order to raise the gate for this Visitor Lot. We will provide a parking coupon so you can exit the lot at the end of the day. If this lot is full (designated by a lighted "full" sign), you may park in the C-1 Parking Lot (south of the Joyce Athletic/Convocation Center.) The Law Building is located to the right of the circular drive and just north and east of the Morris Inn. The Admissions Suite is located in 112 of the Law Building. If you enter using the southwest entrance of the Law Building, the Admissions Office is immediately to the right; if you enter using the south entrance to the Law Building, take ½ flight of stairs and turn to the left.

Please note, immediately south of the Law School you will see construction activity for our new Law Building.

Please note: The time on campus may be different from your time zone. Please click here for clarification.
