All
candidates for the degree of Juris Doctor must complete
90 hours of course work, including 42 required credit
hours. All first-year students take a prescribed curriculum
of a total of 30 credit hours. During a student's second
and third years at the law school, of the remaining
60 credit hours required for graduation, 12 credit hours
are required courses. As a rule, the faculty recommends
that students take most of the required upper-level
courses in the second year to permit maximum flexibility
in third-year scheduling.
