A unique cross between a computer cluster,
design studio, laboratory, reference center, multimedia/presentation
area, and study space, the Engineering Learning Center is a favorite
of students throughout the college.
The center provides flexible work areas for a variety of activities as
students at all levels and in every department of the college use it
to complete team projects or work on their own.
Students can also opt to go beyond classroom assignments by using specially
prepared learning modules. The learning module projects, funded by General
Electric, offer students additional hands-on experience in autonomous
robots, embedded microcontrollers and microcontroller interfaces, satellite
communications, degradation of organic contaminants in water, microelectromechanical
systems, and remote sensing and data acquisition in microprocessor-based
systems.
