As a first-year engineering student at Notre Dame, you'll be required to take the EG 10111/10112 course sequence for engineering intents. It guides you through the process of engineering by helping you explore, develop, and apply fundamental engineering skills while you're gaining practical design experience. You learn by doing.

The sequence involves four half-semester modules that focus on multidisciplinary systems, their behavior, and their interdependent parts. You'll study energy, materials, and information technology. As you put what you're learning into practice, you'll also be learning how to work in a team. It's a lot more fun ... and a lot more impressive on a resume or during a job interview.
