(Posted 3/14 at 1:59 PM) -- Hooray for Pi Day!
Missing out on your Chess fix?
Need a break from your studies?
Our next meeting is Saturday, March 25; hope to see you there!
Sincerely,(Posted February 22, 2006)
Dear Chess Club,In closing, the club must charge each of its members $5 membership per semester. I offer that this $5 can be used to aid in purchasing a USCF membership (roughly $23/year). Also, CCC can (and probably will) allocate 50% of tournament costs.
I am taking down a list of people who are paid; if anyone has suggestions of what (else) to do with dues collected, let me know!
Sincerely,(Posted October 24, 2005)
Hey all,We are moving the location for Thursday meetings (no, it won't be to a phone booth). The South Bend
Chess Club has recently moved
to the Meijer on Grape Road south of Douglas. Meetings are held in Meijer's
restaurant area, rumored to be on your left as you walk in.
This off-campus location means you'll have to find your own transportation to the Meijer, but it will be
worth it, as there is a lot of
competition and talented players. Plan to start showing up around 7-ish.
So, in summary:
Thursday's meeting: 7pm, Meijer on Grape, south of Douglas, restaurant area, on the left as you walk in. Should be good times 8-).
Cheers,
John Gorski

Welcome back to Notre Dame, everybody! We hope to get this chess season up and running as soon as possible. Student Activities Night is Tuesday, August 30 in the JACC at 7pm. Hope to see the old club members there, as well as some new faces. Just look for our table. It's the one with the boards. :-)
For new members: Come to the Student Activities Night and sign up for our email list at our table. We'll be sending out emails the day after to find out when is the best time for club members to meet. If you miss Activities Night, you can always drop Dan or me a line via email to get added to our mailing list. Meeting place and time should be up on this page by next week. Last year's meetings were at the Institute for Educational Initiatives building (behind the Dome) on Tuesday nights.
In addition to emails and our web site, you can join the Facebook group Chess Club. We will use these means of communication to keep you up to date with meeting times and upcoming events.
That should wrap it up for now. I hope you're as excited for the upcoming year as I am! See you at activities night!
