ND Sponsors International Ethics Conference in Shanghai

The Mendoza College sponsored an international conference, Developing Business Ethics in China, at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences in May. Notre Dame's Georges Enderle, the Arthur F. and Mary J. O'Neill Professor of International Business Ethics and the President of the International Society of Business, Economics and Ethics, presented a paper at the conference, "Confidence in the Financial Reporting System: Easier to Lose than to Restore." Other topics explored at the conference include: speculation and insider trading as a problem for business ethics, Confucian and Christian thoughts on market morality, and ethical norms in China and the West.
