Gundlach Named Berry
Professor
Marketing
professor Greg Gundlach has been named to the newly-created John W.
Berry, Sr., Chair. The endowed professorship was funded by a trust created
by the late John W. Berry, Sr., a Dayton, Ohio, business leader who
served for 25 years on the College's advisory council.
Gundlach
is an authority in marketing and society - an area in which the College's
marketing department as a whole has become a national leader. Gundlach
studies the interplay of marketing and the law, with particular emphasis
on antitrust law. He is the coeditor of The Handbook of Marketing and
Society.
Gundlach
is among the nation's foremost experts on "slotting fees," the controversial
practice of retailers and wholesalers requiring a payment from manufacturers
before agreeing to allocate shelf or warehouse space to the manufacturer's
product.
John
Berry retired in 1987 after a 41-year career at L.M. Berry & Company,
a leader in the Yellow Pages sales and publishing industry.
