Accountancy Program
Again Ranked Number Six in U.S.
The
undergraduate and graduate accountancy programs in the University of
Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business are ranked among the best in
the nation, according to a new survey by the industry newsletter, Public
Accounting Report (PAR).
The
undergraduate department ranked sixth and the graduate program ranked
11th in the PAR survey, which is based on a poll of faculty members
at colleges and universities with accredited accounting programs.
The
University's undergraduate program in accountancy has - for years -
been rated among the nation's best by PAR, and Bowman's Accounting Report
has cited Notre Dame as one of the nation's top 10 incubators for partners
in the country's largest accounting firms.
"This
recognition reflects the high regard other university professors have
for our efforts," said Tom Schaefer, accountancy department chair and
KPMG Professor at Notre Dame. "The rankings have helped by making Notre
Dame a priority school for recruiters. The rankings also help us attract
top-notch students and faculty to Notre Dame. Students and faculty see
Notre Dame as a center for excellence in accounting education."
