Finance Scholars
and Regulators Come Together at ND-Nasdaq Stock Market Conference
Leading
finance scholars, practitioners, regulators and economists came to Notre
Dame in September for a conference on pricing, spreads, liquidity, after-hours
trading and other topics of relevance to the American and European stock
exchanges.
Co-sponsored
by Nasdaq and the finance department at ND's Mendoza College of Business,
the conference was organized by ND's Paul Schultz, the John W. and Maude
Clarke Professor of Finance.
Robert
Battalio, ND professor of finance, was among the 16 scholars making
presentations. His paper, "Does a National Market System for U.S. Exchange-Listed
Equity Options Exist?" examines the trading environment in options and
whether regulatory action is needed.
