
The Band offers students a variety of travel options as part of the program. Please select the type of travel you are interested in learning more about below:
The Marching Band has performed at several post season bowl games including the Allstate Sugar Bowl, Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, Insight.com Bowl, and the Toyota Gator Bowl. The Band also travels each year to select regular season away games. Recent trips have included games at Michigan, Penn State,Florida State, Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Michigan State, Purdue, and Michigan. The Band will be making its first ever trip to Los Angeles for the Notre Dame vs. USC football game in November 2008.

In May 2008 the Notre Dame Concert Band completed a tour of China and Japan. The tour featured stops in Beijing, the capital of China as it prepares for to host the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, Xi'an, the ancient capital of China featuring the world famous Terra-cotta Warriors, Shanghai, China's most modern city, and Tokyo a truly beautiful and modern city. The band performed concerts in each city at local universities and concert halls and was well received throughout the tour. Each stop offered a window into a different part of Chinese and Japanese culture. The trip was truly an experience of a lifetime for all involved. Notre Dame students have the unique opportunity to participate in our New Zealand Summer Program. Students travel to New Zealand where they assist the band program at Lindisfarne College, a preparatory school in Hastings. Here they interact daily with students and faculty and gain a truly intercultural experience. During the summer, Notre Dame students are also allotted time to travel throughout New Zealand and Australia. For more information please download the program flyer.
In May 2006, the University of Notre Dame Concert Band toured Austria and the Czech Republic. The band performed in the cities of Vienna, Prague, Salzburg, and Innsbruck. For more information please visit the Austria-Czech 2006 tour page.
In May 2004, the University of Notre Dame Concert Band toured New Zealand and Australia, performing several concerts throughout the region including a concert in the world famous Sydney Opera House. For more information please visit the New Zealand-Australia 2004 tour page.
In May 2002, The University of Notre Dame Concert Band toured Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. For more information please visit the Scandanavia 2002 tour page.
The Notre Dame Concert Band completed a wonderful tour of Southern California. The tour, from May 11 through May 15, included concert stops throughout the Los Angeles area and San Diego. Concerts were held for wonderful audiences at Paul Revere Middle School, The Hall of Liberty at Forest Lawn (hosted by Notre Dame High School, Sherman Oaks, California), Yamaha Corporation of America Headquarters in Buena Park, Westview High School (hosted by Mt. Carmel High School) in San Diego, and finally a perfromance for students at Santee High School in Los Angeles.
The concerts featured California themed music, including Route 66, by Bobby Troup, a song about the famous highway from Chicago to Los Angeles, Olympic Fanfare and Theme by John Williams, originally composed for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, El Camino Real by Alfred Reed, a composition about the famous "King's Highway" that runs throughout southern California.
Students
also had the opportunity to visit many of the famous sites of Southern California.
Students toured Hollywood, the famous Santa Monica Pier, and the beautiful
beach at La Jolla. Upon return to South Bend band members performed a
concert in the Debartolo Performing Arts Center as well as provided music
for the Graduation Mass, ROTC Commissioning Ceremony, and Notre Dame Commencement
Excercises as part of commencement weekend activities back on the ND campus.
