The O'Brien Fund

In honor of his longtime service, dedication and love for the Band of the Fighting Irish, the Robert F. O'Brien fund has been established as a means for Band alumni and friends to contribute to the growth and development of this great Notre Dame tradition.
Through the generosity of many people the O'Brien Fund has already provided many new instruments, uniforms, and band hats. As we continue to strive toward our goals, we recognize the immediate and positive impact that this is possible through these donations.
If you currently give to the University's Annual Fund, or would like to begin on behalf of a great student organization, we ask that you consider earmarking your contribution for the O'Brien Fund. You will receive the same tax advantages and football ticket privileges as with any contribution to the Annual Fund, and your contribution will go toward building an endowment for the Band members of today and the future. We are deeply grateful to those who make so much more possible through their generosity.
You can donate either by phone or mail. To make a credit card donation by phone please call the band office at (574) 631-7136 during regular business hours (M-F, 9AM-5PM Eastern Time). To donate by mail, please download the form below and mail it with your check to:

The Sponsor an Instrument Program
Parents and Alumni Can Sponsor An Instrument
If you are looking for a way to help out the Band in an immediate and tangible way, consider sponsoring and instrument. Your donation will fund the purchase of a new instrument for the band. The instrument's case will have a permanent brass plate attached with the name of the donor.
Parents can purchase an instrument which then can be used by their son or daughter during the years they play in the Band.
All donations will go through the Development Office's O'Brien Fund, thus providing the same tax advantages and football ticket privileges as any other contribution to the University's Annual Fund.
Donated instruments will be added to the Band's inventory, often replacing older instruments. Some instruments will then be donated to Catholic schools in need of musical instruments.
