Randall Zachman (Theology) received a collaborative grant to hold a conference on John Calvin and Roman Catholocism from April 12-14, 2007.

Additional Faculty Support

Julia Douthwaite (Romance Languages & Literatures) received a speaker support grant to host travel writer Rick Steves, and a leading expert on the French Enlightenment, Prof. Pierre Saint-Armand (Brown University), for International Education Week October 2006.

Jon Vickers and the Browning Cinema (DPAC) received a speaker support grant for the visit of film director Gela Babluani in December 2006. He directed the French/Georgian film "13 TZAMETI."

Charles Barber (Art, Art History, Design) received a speaker support grant to bring in Maria-Jose Mondzain, research director for the program in Politics and Communication at the CNRS in Paris, to give a public lecture in November 2006.

Walter Nicgorski (PLS/Political Science) received a speaker support grant to host a conference in October 2006 on "Perspectives on the Renewal of Scholarship on Cicero as Philosopher."

Darcia Narvaez (Center for Ethical Education) received a speaker support grant to host Dr. Augusto Blazi, a major scholar from Rome, Italy, at the Notre Dame Symposium on Character and Moral Personality in October 2006.

Jill Godmilow (Film, Television and Theatre) and Doris Bergen (History), received a speaker support grant to host distinguished independent film and television producer Sandra Schulberg in November 2006. Schulberg will present her research and screen the film "Nuremberg: Its Lessons for Today."

Alison Rice (Romance Languages & Literatures) received a speaker support grant to fund the visit of Julia Kristeva.

Denise Della Rossa (German and Russian Languages & Literatures) received a speaker support grant to bring in Esther Dischereit, German author and activist.

Betty Signer (ND Holocaust Project) received a speaker support grant to support the Genocide Film Series.

Fred Rush, Jr., (Philosophy) received a speaker support grant to support the visit of the 2007 Philosophy and Literature Lecturer, Anthony Cascardi, Ancker Chair in Comparative Leterature, Spanish and Rhetoric at the U of California-Berkeley on March 6.

Adrian Reimers, (Philosophy) received a speaker support grant to fund the visit of Father Weirzbicki from Europe.

Denise Della Rossa (German and Russian Languages & Literatures) received a speaker support grant for the Visiting Max Kade Professor in German, Dr. Hartmut Zelinsky, who will speak on "The German Password "Siegfried": The "Inner Need" of the Curse of the Jews in Richard Wagner's Opus," on April 4.
