"It is difficult to capture in a short message the scale of my achievements as fellow at the Nanovic Institute. First amd most valuably, I would like to stress the friendly atmosphere I found from the beginning. I could engage fruitfully with my research on civil wars and revolutions. This was then linked with an account of the anarchist violence in contemporary Spain, published as "Terror and Violence: the Dark Face of Spanish Anarchism," in International Labor and Working-Class History, 67, Spring 2005, pp 79-99."
