Background

This is the second Notre Dame Symposium on the Moral Personality. The first was held in 2006

The symposia are premised on the claim that any minimally adequate understanding of moral education requires robust models of “character psychology”; and that any minimally adequate understanding of moral character must be grounded on what we know about human personality and its development.

The symposia are sponsored by the Center for Ethical Education (CEE; soon to be called the Collaborative on Ethical Education) CEE builds ethical community and character. The Center envisions a world in which media, sports, and schooling embrace opportunities for ethical leadership and intentionally promote ethical growth. The Center accomplishes its goals by fostering scholarship and developing resources for education, sports, and media.
